NEST Berlin 2025
Mothering, resisting, creating
October 6–17 · Bardo Projektraum · Berlin
🌱 What is NEST?
NEST is a collective space for artists, caregivers, and cultural workers who want to create, reflect, and connect through motherhood, care, and feminist resistance.
It’s not a traditional residency. It’s a space to build community and nurture creative processes rooted in the body, memory, language, and shared experiences.
Part of the long-term initiative NEST: Maternar en Residencia / Resistencia, this Berlin edition focuses on archives, curatorial research, and the visibility of care in the arts. Since 2022, over 30 participants from across the world have joined different NEST editions in Germany and Colombia.

❋ Supported Child Presence
(Not childcare. Not alone.)
At NEST Berlin, we offer Supported Child Presence during closed working sessions held at Bardo Projektraum. This is not a formal daycare or a children’s activity space—but a gently structured support system designed with caregiver-artists in mind.
A dedicated facilitator will be present in a nearby room to help care for children during the core sessions. The space will be prepared with age-flexible materials (cushions, drawing tools, quiet toys) and a calm atmosphere. Children remain in close proximity to their parent(s), who remain ultimately responsible, but are supported in being able to focus, rest, or participate more fully.
We acknowledge that many artists, especially mothers, navigate professional life without access to consistent childcare. Our model does not separate care from creation—it embraces it, while offering real, practical relief.
