Karne Kunst Open Call – March 2026
An invitation to create, connect and imagine together
At Karne Kunst Berlin, community is at the center of everything we do. Our work grows through the relationships we build with artists, cultural workers, neighbors, and organizations who engage with feminist, migrant, queer, and decolonial practices.
If you already know our spaces, you know each one holds a different kind of possibility. And if you’re new to Karne Kunst, or not following us yet, we’d love for you to join our community.

Our Spaces & What They Offer
Bardo Projektraum (Friedrichshain)
An intimate, flexible space ideal for:
• exhibitions and installations
• small performances
• talks, readings, screenings
• workshops and public programs
Bardo works best for projects that benefit from proximity, attention, and direct audience engagement.

The Pocket Gallery (Mitte)
A dynamic space suited for:
• performance experiments
• sound-based work
• short activations
• gatherings, listening sessions, or informal presentations
The Pocket is a place for hybrid, playful, and process-oriented formats.

Ponyhof (Reinickendorf)
Our rehearsal and research hub:
• movement-based practices
• performance research
• labs, residencies and process-focused work
• rehearsals, development time, collaborative sessions
Ponyhof supports artistic processes that need time and room to grow before becoming public.

We are also open to collaborations and co-productions with other organizations, both in Berlin and internationally.
What we are looking for
For our March 2026 program, we welcome proposals that:
- work from feminist, migrant, queer or decolonial perspectives
- explore themes such as memory, care, the body, resistance, archive, territory, or community
- invite engagement—whether contemplative, participatory, collective, or intimate
- experiment with form, process, or how the audience encounters the work
- reflect an intentional, situated artistic practice
We are open to:
exhibitions, performances, installations, workshops, talks, study circles, urban actions, site-specific interventions and hybrid formats. Your project does not need to be large-scale or fully polished. We value clarity, honesty, and depth, over perfection.
What we expect
We ask for:
- a clear intention: why this project matters, and why now
- an idea of how the public is invited into the work
- a simple outline of spatial or technical needs
- openness to working collaboratively with our team
If your project requires fees, materials, production support or a suggested financial framework, please include it directly in the application under needs. This helps us understand what the project requires, there is no right or wrong number.
What we offer
Karne Kunst provides:
- access to one of our spaces (Bardo, The Pocket, or Ponyhof), matched to the needs of the project
- curatorial, organizational, and production support
- visibility through our communication channels
- assistance with mediation or audience engagement when relevant
- an approach centered on dialogue, collaboration, and care
We offer an environment where projects can grow, test ideas, and connect with community.
We don’t offer funding for transport or mobility from other countries.
How to apply
Applications are accepted only through the form (EN/ES).
We do not review proposals sent by email.
📅 Deadline: 29 December 2025
Join the Karne Kunst community
Karne Kunst is more than a place. It’s a network of artists, thinkers, and cultural workers who believe in art as a tool for connection, critique, imagination, and mutual care.
If your practice speaks from the margins, or you’re exploring something that needs space and community to unfold, we invite you to apply.
We look forward to reading your proposal.
