Call for Applications: Projektraum Coswig Residency 2025/2026
Projektraum Coswig offers a 3-month interdisciplinary artist residency in rural Germany, open to visual artists, curators, writers, and researchers. With living and working space provided, and a final group exhibition in Berlin, this art residency supports self-directed practices in a tranquil setting near Berlin, Dessau, and Wittenberg.

About the Residency
Located in the small town of Coswig (Anhalt), Projektraum Coswig is a space for experimentation, rest, and artistic development. This artist residency in Germany welcomes individuals or duos from any artistic discipline, and is especially suited for those seeking time to focus, reflect, and connect with both rural and urban cultural contexts.
There is no set theme or required outcome, but residents will have the opportunity to share their work in a curated pop-up exhibition at Bardo Projektraum in Berlin at the end of their stay.

Who Can Apply
This open call for international artists is directed to:
- Visual artists (painting, installation, photography, etc.)
- Performing and sound artists
- Curators, writers, and cultural researchers
- Interdisciplinary or collaborative duos
- Families (children welcome, infrastructure adapted)
We especially encourage applications from underrepresented voices and artists working with inclusive or experimental practices.
What’s Included
As part of this art residency in Coswig, selected participants will receive:
- Private bedroom with desk and access to shared kitchen, bathroom, living room, and garden
- WiFi and basic production tools
- Curatorial guidance and visibility through Karne Kunst’s platform
- Public presentation in Berlin (pop-up exhibition at Bardo Projektraum)
- Optional open studio in Coswig
This is an interdisciplinary art residency in Germany that offers both solitude and community exchange in a slow, supportive context.

Residency duration: 3 months

Fees
- €900/month per resident (includes accommodation, work space, support, and Berlin exhibition)
- €300/month per additional adult (partner or collaborator)
- Children under 18: Free of charge
Letters of support are available for those applying to external grants.
