🌺 What is NEST?
NEST is a feminist residency program created for artists who mother*. It invites care into the center of artistic creation. For this edition, we gather in the Colombian Andes for a month of collective living, experimentation, and exchange – with children welcomed as part of the process.
🎯 Who Can Apply?
We invite applications from:
- Artists, writers, researchers, or cultural workers
- FLINTA* individuals (women, lesbian, intersex, nonbinary, trans, agender)
- People who identify as mothers (of any age/stage, including stepmothers, caregivers, or pregnant artists)
- Based anywhere in the world
- With or without children (you can attend with your child or solo)
🌎 We prioritize applications from the Global South, migrant, and BIPOC artists.
📋 Program Overview
During this month-long residency, we will:
- Create space for uninterrupted personal and collective art practice
- Explore motherhood, care, and resistance as forms of creation
- Host workshops, collaborative exercises, and open studio sessions
- Live together in rural Colombia, surrounded by nature and community
- Provide childcare support during key activities

💰 What’s Included
We are currently fundraising to cover:
- Travel support for international and Colombian residents
- Accommodation for the full month
- Shared meals and groceries
- Artistic honorarium
- Childcare support during activities
There are no participation fees. However, we aim to confirm funding by September 2025. We will keep selected artists informed.
Participation Fee
- Program Fee: 1000 €
- Solidarity Rate: 750 € (for self-funded artists without access to public grants or funding)
👉 A letter of participation can be provided to support your mobility grant applications or other funding processes.
🧾 How to Apply
Please prepare:
- A short bio (max. 300 words)
- A motivation letter (500–800 words)
- A selection of recent works (PDF or online portfolio)

Can I apply if I’ve never attended a residency before?
Absolutely. NEST is open to both emerging and established artists.
Can I bring more than one child?
Yes. Indicate this in your application and we’ll discuss logistical options.
Is the program in English?
We work in Spanish, English, and German as needed. Interpretation is provided for key moments.
